The Student Hotel Maastricht commissioned me to design two posters for Pride month!
The artworks I designed are inspired by and aim to celebrate queer joy! In the context of compulsory heteronormativity, being unapologetically yourself is both a form of protest but also an act of self-love.
Whether “out” or not, confident in their identify or exploring what feels best, and with all their intersectional characteristics, all members of the LGBTQIA+ community are valid and deserving of love, respect, pride, representation, and safety. Colorful parades and parties are amazing, the foundation of queer joy however, is build on community, activism, allyship, and the dismantling of homophobia, transphobia, racism, and ableism.
